A new school year begins

We are now almost four weeks into first grade. Although a little rocky to begin with, things seem to have settled down some and I think William is actually enjoying school, even if he won't admit it. At least he has stopped torturing me every morning which is certainly an improvement on the first couple of weeks. ("Why am I the only one in this house who has to go to school? I'm NOT going! OK, well I'll put these clothes on but I'm definitely NOT going", etc ad infinitum.

We started this year as a new family at St Joseph Parish School. William's teacher is Sister Margaret Ann and she is nine different kinds of awesome. I can already tell that she has a special  way about her that makes the kids want to learn. Every day William comes home and tells me some new fascinating thing he has discovered.

I volunteered on Gingerbread Day and I think he has some great kids in his class as well. Pics to follow!

First day of 1st grade. The face belies the reality of the day.
