And the fun continues!

So this morning William wakes up complaining of a sore throat, tummy ache and just feeling bad. Since he went to school just fine yesterday after the weekend's escapades, I was inclined to think it was a school dodging ruse. However, he was running a fever and really did seem unwell so I said he could stay home. Which was good because before too long he was right back in the throwing up groove. Different part of the house this time just to change things up a little. Took him to the doctor and of course he has strep. She said that's probably what was going on the other night too. Pizza be damned.

So, seriously, I really did go and buy a steam cleaner this afternoon and that baby is going to be working some over time just as soon as I figure out how to work it.

My sick baby

Remember the horrid pizza? Oh Lord. Well, it decided it was not good enough simply being horrid at the time we ate it. Around 11.45pm, William screams out for us. Got to his room just in time to be liberally sprayed with vomit as my poor child heaved up his guts all over the bed, wall and floor in his room, and onwards down the hall to the bathroom.

Joe and I were like, 'oh my God, oh my God'. How can this much stuff come out of one small child? Somehow I got him bathed and cleaned up and safely tucked away in the milky bed. Then we began the quest to clean his room. The carpet was almost black with spew. Disgusting I know. It took us two hours to get it to a point where we could take our exhausted selves to bed.

Just sayin' there is a steam cleaner in my very near future.

What we did today

This afternoon we went to see Rio in 3D. It was William's first 3D film experience. I think he liked it but the glasses bugged him some. It was a really cute film. We ate too much popcorn and M&Ms. Seriously, eating all the wrong stuff this week. Must. Stop.

Later, we went to Saturday evening Mass. At one point, the sun was shining straight through the stained glass window at the front of the church. It was truly beautiful. I wish I had a photo of it to post here. Then, we went out and had some truly awful pizza at Pizza Montese (aka Raymons). I don't know why I ever thought that pizza was ok. It stinks.
And speaking of stinking, we topped the evening off with a grocery run to Walmart. My least favorite place in the world. Totally. Gross. I feel my blood pressure rising and IQ dropping as soon as I walk in the store. Still, must work harder to be the blessing.
Tomorrow is Mother's Day. The boys have some kind of surprise cooking. William is busting to tell me but he's been pretty good about keeping this secret so far!
